Ocea AS is an established supplier of technology and solutions to the fish farming and aquaculture industries world-wide.
The product range is extensive: From FeedStation central feeding systems, workboats, feed barges, cages and Mercatus software to cameras, lights, ensilage and deadfish-systems and a broad range of accessories and specialised equipment.
Ocea was formed through acquisition of a range of established companies in the business: Arena (Austevoll, Norway), Mercatus (Florø, Norway), Helland Flextech (Skodje, Norway), Aquaservice (Straumgjerde/Sykkylven, Norway), Prona (Santiago and Puerto Montt, Chile), Risnes Marine Partner (Sagvåg/Stord, Norway) and Aquastar (Chile and Panama).
Ocea is headquartered in Bergen, Norway. The company is represented at various locations along the Norwegian coast-line and in Puerto Montt, Osorno, Puerto Varas and Santiago in Chile.
Ocea is an international total supplier of services, technology and solutions to the fishfarming and aquaculture industries. Over the last couple of years the company has seen annual growth rates of above 20%. 2008 totalled at 312 million NOK. Growth is expected to continue in 2009, following the company's consolidating role in the industry.
Bergen-based investment company
Borea is the main stakeholder in Ocea.
Ulsmo is the second largest owner - and company management in Norway and in Chile has also got considerable ownership in the company.
Over the last couple of years, Ocea has undertaken major aquisitions. In 2008 Ocea acquired Prona, Chile's number one steelcage manufacturer and also Norwegian company Risnes Marine Partner (workboats). In January 2009 Chilean powerhouse within aquaculture equipment Aquastar (cameras, lights, spreaders etc.) became part of the Ocea family.
And the saga goes on.
