OCEA cierra importante contrato con Pacific Seafood en Estados Unidos
OCEA, uno de los mayores proveedores de equipamiento y soluciones para la acuicultura a nivel global, refuerza su posición en el mercado norteamericano al cerrar, recientemente, un importante contrato con Pacific Seafood de Estados Unidos. Según la propia compañía, "la orden es amplia e incluye jaulas metálicas con capacidad para vehículos, cámaras submarinas, monitores, redes, botes, software y otros equipamientos".
"El equipamiento, estimado en US$ 2,8 millones, incluye balsas jaulas metálicas además de una buena cantidad de ventajas para el cliente, tales como arreglos aéreos para los tubos de alimentación, deflectores de desperdicios, boyas de alto volumen, sistemas de transmisión inalámbrica para las cámaras submarinas, entre otras", agregó el comunicado de prensa.
Pacific Seafood es una empresa norteamericana y uno de los mayores actores en el sector de productos del mar en la costa oeste del país del norte.
En tanto, OCEA es una empresa Noruega con presencia internacional y con fuerte posicionamiento en Chile, desde donde proviene la mayor parte de este suministro.

Ocea strengthens position as international aquaculture supplier
The Norwegian company Ocea acquires the Chilean supplier Aquastar, and thus strengthens its position and product portfolio in Norway, Chile and the world-wide market for aquaculture solutions.
- We are pursuing our goal of becoming a leading, complete supplier of aquaculture solutions, equipment and turn-key sites to the fishfarming industry. Through acquiring Aquastar we have moved a lot closer to achieving that, says Ocea CEO Bjørn Arve Ofstad.

New CFO and Vice President in Ocea
Hilde Waage (43) takes the position as Ocea CFO and Vice President.
Hilde has an extensive range of experience from both home and abroad, encompassing the following; banking, shipping, the fishmeal industry in Chile, fish processing and port operations in Poland. Hilde has held a number of top positions such as Financial Director for Odra Industrier ASA and Financial Manger in Pacific Protein SA in Chile. She has also held seats on different Boards of Directors, for example for Austevoll Seafood ASA.

Bjørn Arve Ofstad has been employed as President and CEO in Ocea Gruppen. Mr. Ofstad comes from the position as managing director of the business areas Plough Equipment (Norway) and Crop Care (Holland) in Kverneland Group.

Ocea Workboats - for fish farming and aquaculture
Ocea AS has purchased the rights and drawings for the Risnes Marine Partner (RMP) workboats. All RMP employees are now employed by Ocea. The boats will largely be produced and fitted at Ocea’s partner-yard in Estonia.
- We are now becoming an even more complete supplier of equipment to the aquaculture business, says Ocea AS managing director Mons-Ove Hauge. The aquaculture facilities are growing larger and the constructions heavier. Lager, more stable workboats supplied with crane has become a necessity in modern fish farming, says Hauge.
Supplying such craft is a natural development for Ocea as a total supplier.

Ocea company Mercatus signs major contract
HAVdyrkerne SA and Mercatus AS has signed a cooperation contract. Mercatus is to supply production control and guidance software to the fishfarming cooperative HAVdyrkerne. The contract has a duration of 5 years, and includes the Mercatus products AquaFarmer and AquaFuture.

Prona deal signed
The contract making Ocea Holding the owner of Prona has been signed. Ocea Holding now owns Prona 100%.
Ocea Holding is becoming a major player in the Chilean aquaculture market, owning Arena Chile, Mercatus Chile and Prona. Furthermore Ocea has a 40% stake in Haug Aqua.

Changes in Ocea management
Hans Runshaug has assumed the position as managing director of Ocea Holding AS. In this capacity he will have the overall responsibility for all activities in the Ocea Group. Hans has previously been the Chairman of the Board of Ocea Holding AS; a position which now will be held by Gudmund Rønningen.
Mons-Ove Hauge, who earlier also was managing director of Ocea Holding AS, will continue as managing director of Ocea AS and together with Hans be responsible for all Ocea - activities in Norway. In this capacity he will have sales to Norwegian customers as his main responsibility.

Borea moves into the aquaculture industry.
Borea Opportunity II AS invests in Ocea Holding AS - a company delivering equipment to the aquaculture industry, with growth ambitions both in Norway and abroad.
- Ocea represents a good starting point to become involved as a supplier to an industry in growth, says partner Harald Troye in Borea. We wish to contribute to consolidate and develop the equipment supplier industry further. The group is looking at some specific expansion opportunities both nationally and internationally. The aquaculture industry and the marked for supplying equipment for fish farming is a business in strong global growth. Increased consolidation and industrial thinking amongst the customers will also strengthen the position to larger and integrated suppliers.
