Ocea announces the purchase of all shares in Haug Aqua Chile.
Ocea has for a number of years held a 40% share in the company – and is now taking over the company 100% in order to further strengthen the full-service drive and ambition.
Haug Aqua Chile is a leading player within mooring and mooring analysis in the Chilean aquaculture industry. “We are very pleased that such an experienced and skilled team of engineers with a strong reputation in the market will be a part of the Ocea the team” says Bjørn Arve Ofstad, the CEO of Ocea Gruppen AS
The purchase is pending on the on-going due diligence.

Global software solution -
Marine Harvest and Ocea Mercatus extend their co-operation
During 2011 Marine Harvest will implement a global standard for the production, planning and financial management of all its sea-based and land-based fish farming operations – using software solutions from Mercatus – as part of a 5-year strategic co-operation agreement.
Marine Harvest has already been using Mercatus software for a number of years, but it will now extend this co-operation globally to include all Marine Harvest locations and divisions. Ocea Mercatus has been given the challenge to provide the best software system in the world for the production, planning and financial management of the world's largest aquaculture company.

Contract signed: World's first 600-tonne steel barge
Lunda P/F at the Faroe Islands has signed the contract for Ocea to build a steel feedbarge with a capacity of 600 metric tonnes of fishfeed.
The barge will be the largest steel barge ever built for the fishfarming industry – and will be equipped with the Ocea FeedStation 908 central feeding system.
The contract has been negotiated in co-operation with Ocea’s representative in the Faroe Island, MP Teknik.
The barge is to be delivered in April 2011.

The Ocea Group and Backer Entreprenør have entered into an agreement on the joint sales and marketing of Sjøsterk concrete barges.
This agreement will make Ocea by far the largest barge supplier, and Backer will gain access to a national sales and marketing apparatus – with links out into the entire market around the North Sea Basin. Read more>>

The Norwegian company Ocea acquires the Chilean supplier Aquastar, and thus strengthens its position and product portfolio in Norway, Chile and the world-wide market for aquaculture solutions.

Ocea Workboats - for fish farming and aquaculture
Ocea AS has purchased the rights and drawings for the Risnes Marine Partner (RMP) workboats. All RMP employees are now employed by Ocea. The boats will largely be produced and fitted at Ocea’s partner-yard in Estonia.
- We are now becoming an even more complete supplier of equipment to the aquaculture business, says Ocea AS managing director Mons-Ove Hauge. The aquaculture facilities are growing larger and the constructions heavier. Lager, more stable workboats supplied with crane has become a necessity in modern fish farming, says Hauge.
Supplying such craft is a natural development for Ocea as a total supplier.

HAVdyrkerne SA and Mercatus AS has signed a cooperation contract. Mercatus is to supply production control and guidance software to the fishfarming cooperative HAVdyrkerne. The contract has a duration of 5 years, and includes the Mercatus products AquaFarmer and AquaFuture.

Prona deal signed
The contract making Ocea Holding the owner of Prona has been signed. Ocea Holding now owns Prona 100%.
Ocea Holding is becoming a major player in the Chilean aquaculture market, owning Arena Chile, Mercatus Chile and Prona. Furthermore Ocea has a 40% stake in Haug Aqua.

Changes in Ocea management
Hans Runshaug has assumed the position as managing director of Ocea Holding AS. In this capacity he will have the overall responsibility for all activities in the Ocea Group. Hans has previously been the Chairman of the Board of Ocea Holding AS; a position which now will be held by Gudmund Rønningen.
Mons-Ove Hauge, who earlier also was managing director of Ocea Holding AS, will continue as managing director of Ocea AS and together with Hans be responsible for all Ocea - activities in Norway. In this capacity he will have sales to Norwegian customers as his main responsibility.

Borea moves into the aquaculture industry.
Borea Opportunity II AS invests in Ocea Holding AS - a company delivering equipment to the aquaculture industry, with growth ambitions both in Norway and abroad.
